Preconference: The Orange Frog Workshop
We’ve been conditioned to think that if we work hard, we’ll attain success and, thus, happiness. Over the last decade, the psychological sciences have demonstrated that this success formula is backwards. Happiness is a choice and a facilitator of future success.
MASA strategic partner Battelle for Kids (BFK) is partnering with the International Thought Leader Network (ITLN) to bring The Orange Frog Workshop™ to K–12 education. Based on the groundbreaking work of Shawn Achor, author of the The New York Times best-selling book The Happiness Advantage: The Seven Principles of Positive Psychology that Fuel Success and Performance at Work, MASA has asked BFK to offer members professional learning and resources to create more positive school cultures.
This abbreviated version of the two-day Orange Frog workshops will give session attendees a chance to get a taste of the experience and consider options for bringing the experience to their districts and schools. This workshop will be facilitated by BFK staff including Executive Director Jim Mahoney. He was a big hit at MASA’s Fall Conference with his keynote presentation, “The Five Senses of Leadership,” and MASA is thrilled to welcome him back for this special preconference. BFK’s special guest in the session will be Genesee Intermediate School District Superintendent Lisa Hagel, who has experience with implementing Orange Frog.
Don’t miss your chance to reserve your spot in this inspiring and energizing preconference on Jan. 24!
