A new state law authorizing the implementation of the Michigan Kindergarten Entry Observation (MKEO) beginning in the fall of 2018 will lead to changes in the coming years. There is a general expectation that publicly supported kindergarten classrooms in Michigan will utilize the Kindergarten Readiness Assessment (KRA) tool developed for the Maryland and Ohio Departments of Education in partnership with WestEd and Johns Hopkins University.

In order to ensure that superintendents and curriculum leaders become familiar with the assessment tool and training process for kindergarten teachers, MAISA and Johns Hopkins University will host a webinar on the KRA tool on October 19 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
