Join your colleagues to learn about #GoOpen and how high-quality open educational resources (OER) enable access to transformative learning experiences. The #GoOpen Michigan Summit is taking place on December 5th, 2017 in three different locations: the Michigan Science Center in Detroit, Kalamazoo RESA, and Marquette-Alger RESA.
In-person breakout sessions at all three locations will help you to:
- Understand the background of #GoOpen and the benefits of joining the #GoOpen Community
- Learn about openly licensed educational resources (OER) and determine the difference between free, open, and proprietary instructional materials
- Discover how Michigan’s #GoOpen districts are using OER to personalize learning
- Leave with tangible ways to make #GoOpen a reality in your building or district and how to continue the conversation
This event will feature Keynote Speaker Kristina Peters, a K-12 Open Education Specialist, leading school districts and educators through the transition to open educational resources to transform teaching and learning.
The #GoOpen Michigan Summit will provide an opportunity for participants to explore opportunities to expand the use of high-quality OER.
