The Network of Michigan Educators has announced an exciting upcoming learning and networking opportunity — the MI Powered by Teach to Lead Summit: Strategic Partnerships. This is a FREE pre-conference to the Governor’s Education and Talent Summit on Monday, March 12, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Collection Showplace in Novi.
Teach to Lead is a national initiative with a goal of directly connecting educators to other teacher leaders who have innovative partnership ideas in education. To create systemic and sustained change, the Teach to Lead event involves and encourages collaboration among stakeholders at every level of education. Also welcome to attend are business, industry and organization leaders along with policy makers, and other stakeholders.
Participants at previous summits have covered a wide range of topics from specifically creating teacher leadership systems that can connect to the community, to better serving students from specific high-needs groups or improving instruction and student programming in a variety of ways. The most important aspect of a Teach to Lead event is that educators have the opportunity to craft the solutions to the problems they see standing in the ways of best serving all students.
Participants attending the March 12 Teach to Lead summit will:
- Share and learn from examples of existing teacher leadership
- Identify shared issues, develop ideas to address those issues, and create actionable leadership plans to execute in their schools, districts or states
- Work together, network and build relationships with other educators and leaders
