The National Education Foundation (NEF) and the State University of New York (SUNY) have launched a “Make America STEM Great” national initiative to provide 100% STEM grants to 50 school districts/schools — one in each state — during the 2018-19 school year. The deadline to apply is July 15, 2018.

The goal is to raise U.S. students from the bottom 12% globally in math & STEM education, and to get them excited about STEM/CTE, so that they can compete for STEM jobs in the highly-competitive global economy.

Details

  • Grant Awards and amount: 50 awards, one for each state, $49,000 for 100 students, 6-8th graders, for a grant total of $4,900,000
  • Eligibility: School districts/schools with 50% or more students on Free/Reduced cost meals, and dynamic, passionate and committed interest and leadership in STEM
