The MASA Executive Board today opened a Request for Proposals (RFP) for search firms/consultants that have experience in superintendent searches and/or in searches for executive directors of educational associations and organizations, as the association searches for a new executive director.

Current Executive Director Chris Wigent announced his plans to retire in late 2020.

The RFP will close on November 13, 2019. The board plans to make a selection at its November 20 meeting, and then the chosen firm/consultant will begin to meet with the members of the MASA Executive Board, Region Presidents, education association leaders, MASA staff, and others to discuss the characteristics that would be preferred in the new Executive Director.

The board expects to name a new MASA Executive Director by May 1, 2020, with a start date of July 1, 2020. Transition details will be announced after the hiring of the new Executive Director.
