As promised, all MASA members are being provided with a template for drafting a COVID-19 Preparedness and Response Plan. This template was created over the past week by the GELN Continuity of Learning Task Force, in cooperation and with endorsement from a multitude of education organizations – including MASA – the Governor’s office, and the Michigan Department of Education.

Click here to access a copy of the template via Google Docs.

In an effort to assist you in compiling your local plan, while also providing continuity across districts and ISDs, the template addresses all state requirements and is aligned to the Michigan Return to School Roadmapdeveloped by the Governor’s Return to School Advisory Council (Executive Order No. 2020-142). While the template is comprehensive, please note that it is not a legal document and your local counsel should be consulted.

The next installment of this work, to be released later in July, will support district and school leaders as they develop District Preparedness and COVID-19 Response Plans that prepare for moving between the stages of the MI Safe Start Plan.

Thank you for all of your continued hard work and dedication to the students, staff and education communities you serve, especially in these unprecedented times. Please do not hesitate to contact me or the MASA staff if we can be of assistance.
