MIEM - SB CEUsNew Secure Central Registry to track SB-CEUs: Online March 1, 2010
Through a partnership between the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) and the Michigan Institute for Educational Management (MIEM), a secure central registry (SCR) has been designed and will be implemented for individuals who apply SB-CEUs toward Professional Education Certificate renewal, School Counselor License renewal, School Psychologist Certificate renewal, Administrator Certificate renewal, and Administrator continued employment requirements. MIEM will be responsible for operating and maintaining the system.

Once again, MASA and MASB will jointly host the Legislative Conference. The combined influence of our two organizations has an even stronger impact on legislators than either separately. As funding resources dwindle, some in Lansing would like nothing more than to see stakeholders in the education community fight for scarce dollars. That’s when MASA Executive Director William Mayes presented Campbell with the 2010 Michigan Superintendent of the Year award. Michigan Dropout Challenge
We know we can predict as early as 6th grade which of our students are likely to drop out. There are some simple steps school leaders can take to prevent it. In October, the MDE will release to the media a list of districts and schools who have accepted the challenge to address this critical and timely issue. Make sure your district is on it!
