As the demographics of Michigan’s superintendents continue to change, we are seeing more women step into leadership roles across the state’s school districts. In response, MASA has created the Women’s Leadership Network, an opportunity for current and aspiring female leaders to network and learn from each other throughout the year. Our next opportunity to connect is during “Shattering the Glass: Women in Leadership Webinar” on Wednesday, Dec. 2 from 4-5 p.m.

The webinar will feature a panel presentation led by MASA’s Dr. Tina Kerr and Dr. Sarena Shivers with women leaders from differing backgrounds, who will share their journey to their leadership position. Tonya Allen, president and chief executive officer of The Skillman Foundation; Dr. Jennifer Green, superintendent of Southfield Public Schools, and Emily Laidlaw, Policy Director for the Office of Governor Whitmer will share the barriers they have overcome and successes they have experienced along the way, and participants will have an opportunity to ask questions and receive advice about moving into leadership positions
