Online registration for the 2011 Great Lakes Homeland Security Training Conference & Expo is now available at www.michigan.gov/emhsd. The conference features a Special School Offer with one day of complimentary workshops specifically geared towards school personnel and first responders involved with schools.
Topics to be addressed at the conference:
- Maximizing Security in Schools
- Protecting our Schools
- Fight, Flight, or Freeze
- Intruder Response
- When Lockdowns Fail
The special school offer will be held on Wednesday, May 4 at the DeVos Place in Grand Rapids. During the conference, there will be top-rated speakers, hands-on workshop sessions, networking opportunities, and an expanded exhibitor area.
When registering for the conference, select the registration type “School” and enter the discount code “school”. Once you have completed the registration process, an invoice will be generated indicating the fee has been waived for the first 300 registered for the Special School Offer. The fee thereafter will be $125.
In addition, if you would like to attend the full conference (May 3-5), you can receive a discounted rate of $225. A request to attend the full conference at the discounted rate should be sent to EMHSD-Conference@michigan.gov.
Continuing Education Credits will be available for teachers and administrators.
