MSBO, MDE and School Nutrition of MI (SNAM) are collaborating on a conference designed to help schools better understand the impact of the new School Food Regulations. It takes place May 30 at Lansing Community College – West Campus. Registration begins at 8 am with the conference beginning at 9:00am to 4:00 pm.
These new rules will substantially alter how you deliver school meals in the future. Meal content will cost more and regulations will also require districts to raise meal prices.
This will be an excellent workshop for finance directors and food service directors to come together to hear the same message so that you can better manage your food program and communicate to your district and community as these changes take effect.
You’ll learn about Paid Lunch Equity, the Impact of the New Standards, Properly calculating direct/indirect costs, How to take advantage of your Consortia, and How to adapt.
We’ll be reviewing how to accurately assess your operation - so bring your order guide, menus and other pricing information that impacts your food costs. You’ll learn how to determine where you will need to adjust.
You can register online through SNAM. You can view the agenda and fax in a registration, as well – Flyer and Registration Form
