Michigan Education Leadership Group, in partnership with Lansing Art Gallery and Ingham Intermediate School District, offers student artists the opportunity to have their work selected for display. Art teachers of students in grades K-12 attending schools within the Ingham ISD service area are invited to submit entries. The work is judged by professional art educators and artists. Judges select work based on creativity and originality, as well as craftsmanship and technique. Typically, the judges consider over 200 pieces and select between 40 and 50 for display. Half of the work is displayed for one year in the Michigan Education Leadership Group building and the other half is in the Thorburn Education Center. Hundreds of visitors enjoy the artwork throughout the year. At the end of the year, the work is returned to the student professionally matted and framed.
