The Michigan School Public Relations Association on Tuesday released a Toolkit for Communicating about Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The toolkit was created in partnership with the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), several superintendents, MASA and MAISA, and several MSPRA members who have dealt with this topic for several weeks.

Access the Toolkit.

The toolkit highlights some ways that school districts may choose to communicate about COVID-19, including state guidance about the virus, sample letters from school districts to parents and staff, and sample media statements.

Currently, the state of Michigan has no confirmed cases of the virus. This is a public health issue, so educators are encouraged to contact their local health department with any questions or inquiries about COVID-19.
