In early August, Assistant Superintendent Michelle Krynicki of Godwin Heights Public Schools was named the recipient of the Fall 2025 MASA Impact Award. After a short month of working closely with MASA to tailor the award to the district’s specific needs, gifts were delivered following the Labor Day break to teachers and students.

Led by Superintendent Chad Conklin and Assistant Superintendent Krynicki, and joined by other building administrators, the MASA team, and a representative from our strategic partners at TRAILS, the team surprised 10 classrooms with “Tote-tally Ready for Back-to-School” totes. As the group entered each classroom, teachers were shocked, overwhelmed, and deeply moved by the unexpected recognition. Each tote was thoughtfully filled with essential teacher resources and supplies, designed to support creativity, organization, and impactful learning across all building levels – from early childhood and the Learning Center to elementary, middle, and high school.

Teachers’ reactions were heartfelt, with some saying, “It feels like Christmas!” and “I know we are strangers, but I just want to hug you!”

“This award is meaningful for everyone involved, but it is especially significant for the MASA Team,” said a MASA spokesperson. “It serves as a powerful reminder of why we do this work and highlights the core of education – empowering educators so they can guide, inspire, and equip students each and every day.”

The MASA Impact Award continues to celebrate educational leadership and provide meaningful support to teachers – resources and recognition that ultimately enrich the learning experience for students across the district. Thanks to the generous support of our strategic partners at TRAILS and DeMaria Building Company, this delivery was made possible
