Chelsey M.B Martinez, M.S.

Director of Communications and Operations
Chelsey has more than a decade of experience in communications, public relations, and public policy. Prior to joining MASA, she served as Communications and Marketing Analyst at Michigan Department of Education (MDE), Director of Communications at the Michigan Association of Secondary School Principals (MASSP), and a Writer at the Michigan House of Representatives.
A forever Spartan, Chelsey earned a Master of Science in Strategy, Management, and Leadership from Michigan State University’s Broad College of Business, a Bachelor of Arts in Social Relations and Policy from MSU’s James Madison College and a second Bachelor of Arts in Journalism.

Direct and manage all Association communication and brand management; assist with oversight of office operations and key initiatives, including: project management, strategic planning, and continuous system improvements.

Dynamic Details
- Performing is in my blood – I have been in six musical productions, was a show choir kid and a former dancer.
- Born and raised a diehard Bears and Cubs fan…I learned to accept defeat and the meaning of resiliency at very young age.
- I absolutely abhor running and will usually only do it if being chased or I’m late for a plane.
