Bill Number: HB 4610
Subject: Vaccine Notices
Sponsor: Brian Elder
MASA Position: Oppose
Description: Requires certain notices for schools concerning immunization status. This bill would require public notices in districts that a board determines that more than 5% of the pupils enrolled have not been tested for and immunized or protected against diseases specified by the director of the department of health and human services. Schools that meet this threshold must post a sign on each entrance of a particular size that states more than 5% of enrolled pupils have not been tested or immunized. Schools must also post this information on their website home page.
Position Notes: Members are still required to enroll students that are not vaccinated there would not be a method to avoid the notice requirement or to revise it once it was mandated.
