MASA’s Quickfire Sessions are intensive, two-hour learning opportunities based on member feedback and designed to provide school leaders with essential updates on critical education-related topics – this particular session will focus on Redefining Your Role at the District Level.
Moving from a building to a district role is one of the most challenging – and often least supported – transitions in education leadership. What made you successful at the building level is rarely enough at the system level. This session explores the essential shifts leaders must make to move from hands-on problem solving to strategic, systems-level thinking. Drawing on principles from Lindsey Wharton’s Beyond Impossible, participants will examine the habits and mindsets that can limit leadership impact and learn how to replace them with approaches that expand it. Leaders will leave with practical strategies to zoom out, lead through others, and make decisions that strengthen the entire system by shifting from managing parts to leading the whole.
Sessions are open to superintendents, central office administrators, and aspiring district leaders.
