MASA is excited to announce the launch of Horizon+SE, a new addition to the well-established Horizon Leadership Academy (HLA). This innovative program, in collaboration with the Michigan Association of Administrators of Special Education (MAASE), provides a state-approved pathway for educators to gain specialized training and required credentials in special education leadership.
Through Horizon+SE, qualified candidates can earn their general education administrator certificate and central office endorsement while completing additional coursework focused on special education leadership. This includes specific training aligned with the standards for leadership in special education, making it possible to achieve “Supervisor” or “Director” approval.
Cohorts are forming now for a Jan. 2025 start for both the HLA program and the +SE coursework. Space is limited and interested candidates should apply by Dec. 13, 2024, to secure their spot.
