Members | Michigan Association of Superintendents & Administrators

MASA members are the decision-makers who help strengthen Michigan’s public education institutions.* They are the superintendents, first-line administrators, and central office administrators who work day in and day out to ensure the success of our state’s public schools and more than 1.5 million students. They are also retired superintendents who have dedicated decades of service to our schoolchildren and our public schools, and our education partners from state departments and higher education who work hard to support Michigan’s educators.

MASA membership types and their benefits include:

Superintendents

  • Personal and Technical Support
Members receive “just in time” personal and technical support from MASA leadership and staff. Resources such as MASA’s recently released Superintendent’s Calendar are available to help district leaders stay current on state reporting, board to-do’s and more.
  • Government Relations
MASA promotes the membership’s legislative platform and priorities to local, state and federal lawmakers. We empower members to make contributions to education policy discussions by providing timely updates, analysis and action alerts.
  • Professional Development
MASA provides opportunities that ensure superintendents continuously grow in their practice and keep their certifications up to date. From the New Superintendents Leadership Academy for those early in their careers to the Horizon Leadership Academy’s Sustain Excellence for more established administrators, MASA has high-quality programs for all members. Drive-In conferences and webinars will also offer opportunities for continuing education credit, always focused on relevant topics to current administrators.
  • Communications
Members receive digital publications and communication tools to stay informed of the latest education news and to help tell their districts’ stories, including eLeader, the Marshall Memo and members-only content.
  • Legal Services
MASA provides legal services to members through a partnership with one of Michigan’s most respected public sector law firms, specializing in education law.
  • Enhanced Online Services
Enhanced services are available on the MASA website, www.gomasa.org. We continue to gather news, information and resources to enrich your district or organization, and your own leadership capacity.

  • A subscription to the MASA Morning News, a daily roundup of education-related news articles from across the state.
  • Access to professional development conferences offered by MASA and tailored to the unique needs of an executive assistant.
  • Access to training webinars and conferences focusing on topics that will help executive assistants excel in their jobs.
