Sarena Shivers, Ed.D.

Deputy Executive Director
Sarena has over three decades of experience in education. She has served as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and superintendent, most recently at the helm of Redford Union Schools. Her professional accomplishments include the creation of transformational initiatives focused on adolescent literacy, writing, mathematics, STEM, school leadership, instructional technology, and secondary learning and instruction.
Sarena holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from Indiana University, a Master of Arts in Administration and Supervision from Ball State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Morgan State University.
